The beautiful picturesque viticulturally ideal Stark Conde Wines lies at the foot of the World Heritage UNESCO site, the Jonkershoek Valley. The slopes of Jonkershoek provides a pristine valley which is perfect for red varietals, with an elevation of between 150m up to 600m above sea level, which provides a correspondingly broad range of fruit characteristics such as the signature varietal of Stark Conde, the hand-crafted Cabernet Sauvignon having won it’s producer numerous awards in South Africa and globally.
Rustenberg Wines has a rich history of exceptional wine making on the farm dating from 1724 by different custodians. Rustenberg Wines has lots to offer besides award winning wines. Their cultural history, lavish gardens to roam through amazing views of Stellenbosch, Cape Dutch style building, dating as far back as early 1800’s and even a labyrinth to walk for the spiritual at heart.
A wine estate whose history spans over 250 years lies on the lower slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain with winemaker Luke O’Cuinneagain who has worked in the world famous Bordeaux region as well as Napa Valley in the US. With a great balance letting the varieties express themselves and letting them tell the story of the vintage by keeping it as natural and organically as possible. Take the stairs down to the Glass Museum and take a trip into the history of glassmaking and of ancient and contemporary glass which is considered modern works of art.
